Working on the Rivers: Forth Fisheries Trust

The Invasive Plants team are delighted to start work for its newest client, the Forth Fisheries Trust later this month. The Trust recently instructed ERS to treat Japanese knotweed (Jk) which is impacting the water course on the River Almond, River Devon and Water of Leith.

Jk is particularly problematic in and around watercourses – spreading quickly downstream, overshadowing rivers affecting water temperatures and fish. ERS will be deploying two invasive plant treatment teams to walk over 40km of riverbank to safely apply herbicide to treat the plant.
